「出る杭は打たれる」ということわざを英語でなんと言うのだろう。
日本語の本来の意味から言えば、 A nail that sticks out will be punded down. が適切と多くの辞書に書いてあるが、こういうのを見つけた。

これって日本語の意味とはまったく正反対だけれども、こうありたいよね。他と調子を合わせたりするよりも、批判が多くてもすくっと大地に立つように、批判も受けとめて、どっしりと立っていたい。
